Filing a defect claim

Three things we need from you

Send all three together and we'll have a decision back to you fast. Missing any one of them puts your claim on hold.

  1. 1

    Photo of the defect

A clear, close-up photo showing the failure itself — sidewall split, separated tread, broken bead, etc.

  2. 2

    Photo of the whole tire

A full-tire photo with the DOT date code legible. This proves it's the tire we shipped you.

  3. 3

    Receipt from your installer

A receipt from the shop that mounted and balanced the tire. Confirms it was installed professionally.

Common questions

Before you write in

What if I already mounted the tire?

If it's a 60-day satisfaction return, the tire has to be unmounted and unused — once it's been on a wheel, we can't take it back under that policy. The 1-year defect warranty is the opposite: a defect claim requires the tire to have been professionally installed, so mounting is expected there.

Do you cover DIY installs?

No. The 1-year defect warranty requires a receipt from a professional shop. Tires installed at home or by a non-shop don't qualify, because improper installation can cause failures that look like defects.

How do I send the tire back?

For a 60-day satisfaction return, you pay return shipping to our facility in Cahokia Heights, IL. For an approved defect claim, we cover the return shipping — we'll email you a prepaid label once your photos and receipt are reviewed.

What's not covered by the defect warranty?

Road hazard damage (nails, potholes, curb cuts), normal tread wear, damage from improper installation, and any abuse or misuse. The warranty covers manufacturing defects only — sidewall failure, tread separation, and bead failure.

How long until I hear back on a claim?

Most defect claims are reviewed within 1–2 business days of receiving all three required photos and your installer receipt.

Refund or replacement — who picks?

You do. On a valid defect claim, you choose between a free replacement tire (same size, comparable spec) or a full refund of what you paid.

Direct Tire Supply is a registered DBA of M&M Tire LLC. This warranty and return policy applies to tires purchased directly from Direct Tire Supply. Manufacturer defect coverage runs for one year from the date of purchase. The 60-day satisfaction return policy applies only to tires that have not been mounted or used.
